In 1979, the Destin Development Company was formed in Destin, Florida. Beginning as a nightclub, the company soon acquired The Back Porch Restaurant.After such success from this venture, a decision was made to concentrate on additional acquisitions and within several years four more restaurants were added .
In 1998, the company changed its name to Cobb Investment Company, Inc., and in 11 months Louisiana Lagniappe was added to the list of successful eateries.
In 1999, after successfully opening 4 restaurants in Orange Beach, Alabama, the name was changed to Southern Restaurant Group. And in 2004, an entry was made into the Pensacola market with the opening of the Caribbean Soup Company, a fast-casual restaurant concept.
The company also owns the Island Golf Center, a golf entertainment center in Destin.
