In 1979, the Destin Development Company was formed in Destin, Florida. Beginning as a nightclub, the company soon acquired The Back Porch Restaurant.  After such success from this venture, a decision was made to concentrate on additional acquisitions and within several years four more restaurants were added .

In 1998, the company changed its name to Cobb Investment Company, Inc., and in 11 months Louisiana Lagniappe was added to the list of successful eateries.

In 1999, after successfully opening four restaurants in Orange Beach, Alabama, the name was changed to Southern Restaurant Group.

Currently, Southern Restaurant Group owns and operates eight waterfront restaurants.  Four of these restaurants are located in Destin, FL and consists of The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House, Pompano Joe’s, Fisherman’s Wharf and Louisiana Lagniappe.  The company also owns two restaurants in Panama City Beach, FL - a second location of The Back Porch and Reggae J’s Island Grill.  Both Panama City Beach restaurants are located in Pier Park.  Southern Restaurant Group also owns two restaurants which are located in Orange Beach, AL at SanRoc Cay Shopping & Marina Complex - a second location of Louisiana Lagniappe and Cafe Grazie.
